Pediatric Wellness

We believe children deserve care that honors their natural resilience, while also addressing the real challenges of growing up. Our approach blends the best of natural medicine with current scientific understanding, offering families thoughtful, personalized options that complement conventional pediatric care.

We do not replace your child’s pediatrician. Instead, we act as an adjunctive provider working alongside your family’s primary care team to support your values, your intuition, and your child’s individual needs.

We work with children and families on a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Chronic Digestive Issues: constipation, diarrhea, reflux, stomach aches

  • Skin Concerns: eczema, rashes, chronic irritation, chronic diaper rash

  • Food Sensitivities and Dietary support

  • Immune System Support: frequent illnesses, chronic or slow recovery from infections

  • Sleep Struggles

  • Emotional and Behavioral Concerns: anxiety, overwhelm, sensory sensitivities

  • Focus and Attention Challenges: ADD/ADHD

  • Gentle Care for Illness: coughs, fevers, viral infections, ear infections

  • Preventive Care and Wellness Support: through life’s transitions

A Note on Our Scope of Practice

We are not pediatricians and do not serve as a substitute for pediatric care. While Naturopathic Doctors are trained as primary care providers, at Cove, we work in an adjunctive role. This means we offer complementary care that supports, but does not replace, your child’s primary medical provider.

Families are required to have a pediatrician or primary care provider for:

  • Physical exams and well-child checks

  • Medication management and prescriptions

  • Receive vaccinations

  • Emergency or urgent medical concerns

We are here to fill the gaps, especially for naturally minded parents and those seeking additional support, second opinions, or more time to explore the “why” behind your child’s health concerns.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. We work alongside your pediatrician to provide complementary care. We do not offer urgent care, manage ongoing medications, or administer vaccines.

However, we recognize that navigating childhood health decisions can feel overwhelming. We're here to offer clear, compassionate guidance and help you feel empowered in your choices, while always respecting your family's values.

  • We offer integrative well-child visits that focus on nutrition, development, sleep, immunity, and emotional health. These visits complement, but do not replace your child’s physical exams and routine pediatric visits.

We are also happy to provide sport’s physicals for young athletes.

  • We focus on using the most gentle and effective treatments first. This includes approaches that support the body’s healing without unnecessary intervention. This might include nutrition and lifestyle recommendations, herbal medicine, targeted supplements, home remedies, or mind-body tools.

When appropriate, we aim to address underlying causes and ease symptoms before moving to more aggressive treatments like antibiotics or steroids. These medications absolutely have a place when needed, and we work to ensure that any path taken is thoughtful, stepwise, and in alignment with your child’s overall health.

Our care is always individualized and collaborative, supporting your child’s resilience while also respecting your comfort as a parent.

  • Absolutely. Many parents have questions about vaccinations, and we are happy to provide space for thoughtful, respectful conversations.

Many parents have questions about vaccine timing, ingredients, spacing, or how to support their child’s immune system before and after vaccinations. Our goal is to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and never judged. We strive not to persuade, but to inform and help you feel educated in your decisions. We support families in a variety of care choices and always encourage collaboration with your child’s pediatrician.
